A human being's view of himself or herself is shaped by the culture in which he or she lives

Movie
The movie my Big Fat Greek Wedding is about a Greek girl who falls in love with a man named Ian Miller who is not Greek at all. Her family's culture is that every Greek must marry another Greek. She is shaped by this culture her whole life. When Ian and Toula meet they fall in love and later decide to get married. When Ian meets Toula's family he sees how their culture and tradition really is. He sees how crazy and loud they are. Toula's dad Gus is upset that Ian isn't Greek and is very stubborn about it. Ian also happens to be vegetarian which is the complete opposite of a Greek. Toula's culture is shaped by her family because she feels as if she has to marry a Greek boy. On the other hand, Ian starts understanding this culture and even gets baptized as a Greek for her. He then begins to understand and that's how his culture is formed. His culture is formed by Toula and her father's influences and they later have a child in part two of the movie and expect her to follow Greek culture as well.
